Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day Pediatric Advance Life Support Course of IAP-PALS


Aligarh : The Department of Pediatrics, J. N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day Pediatric Advance Life Support Course of Indian Association of Pediatrics (IAP-PALS) for resident doctors of Pediatrics and Medicine. It is a prestigious course based on guidelines of American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association. Twenty three residents of Department of Pediatrics and one from the Department of Medicine participated in the course. The book of Pediatrics Advance Life Support and Basic Life Support was distributed to the registered candidates one month prior to the commencement of the course.

While delivering the inaugural address, Prof. M. H. Beg, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College appreciated the efforts of Prof. S. Manazir Ali, Course Coordinator, PALS and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics. He also advised the participants to acquire knowledge and bring it into practice in order to save the life and disseminate knowledge to the juniors.

Prof. S. Manazir Ali conducted the program and introduced Prof. A. K. Rawat, Director, PALS Course Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar, MP, Dr. Piyali Bhataycharia, SGPGI, Lucknow, Dr. Anant Ketkar, MP, Dr. Ravi Adlakha, Mission Hospital Bareilly, Dr. Karan Joshi, S. S. Medical College, Rewa, MP and Dr. S. Manazir Ali from Aligarh.

Dr. A. K. Rawat presented the overview of PALS Course and informed that the certificate will be given to the candidates at the end of the course provided the candidates would have secured 84% in post test and cleared the hand on skills of Basic Life Support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Dr. Y.K. Dwivedi, Coordinator of IAP Activity of Aligarh Branch gave away the certificate of participation to the participating doctors. Prof. Tabassum Shahab proposed a vote of thanks.
